Business Development Manager (Export Distributors)

JHS & Co. Ltd is the largest independent distributor of musical instruments and accessories in the UK.

Based at our Garforth, Leeds Head Office, we are recruiting a Business Development Manager (Export Distributors)

Reporting to the Managing Director, this head office based international field sales role primarily involves responsibility for the day-to-day management and development of the Company’s export business, dealing with a wide variety of distributor and retail customers around the world, selling a wide range of categories of musical instruments and associated merchandise.

The successful candidate for this exciting, challenging, demanding, and rewarding role will be a self-motivated disciplined sales professional with experience of international distributive business practices and goals, have well-developed preparation, administrative, organizational, preparation and time management skills, capable of presenting and closing sales at all levels in an intensely competitive sales environment.

With over 60 world class brands in our range, we sell into more than 130 countries worldwide, and international travel will be an integral part of this role.

In addition to this the successful candidate will be required to attend international trades shows, such as the NAMM Show (USA), Music China (China) and Guitar Summit (Germany).

Essential attributes are the ability to work well independently and as part of a team, to have excellent interpersonal skills, be an engaging and adept communicator, with experience as a musician and/or have music products industry knowledge and/or experience of musical instruments and live sound, directly related to the categories the Company operates in.

Literacy, numeracy, competence with MS Office applications, ERP systems and CRM generally and a working knowledge of all aspects of e-commerce are pre-requisites.
